Chirimen (silk crepe textile)

Chirimen(縮緬) is a fabric created from raw silk with a strong twist on the weft. This fabric is characterized by unevenness called "shibo."
For this reason, chirimen is a very supple fabric that can suppress wrinkles.

Chirimen can be matte or brightly colored fabric.

After the time of war, technology develops rapidly and people can afford to live better.
Today, chirimen is still representative of high-class kimono fabric.
