Joufu (High-quality plain-woven hemp cloth)

This fabric is made from ultra-fine high-grade hemp thread. It is characterized by the beauty of the openwork and the "sharpness"("Sharikan"in japanese).

It has high moisture absorption and water release, and is the coolest of all materials.
It's a fabric that can be washed with water.

It has the oldest history and became a gift to the shogunate in the 17th century, and is still representative of high-class kimono fabrics in summer.
